ZZ Top Information

American rock trio ZZ top will be performing at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston on Tuesday, September 15th before touring to New York and New Jersey. The band first formed together in Houston Texas in 1969. The original and current members are Frank Beard (drums, percussion), Dusty Hill (vocals, bass, keyboards), and Billy Gibbons (lead vocals, guitar). ZZ Top reached their highest success in the 1970's and '80's with popular hits "Gimme All Your Lovin," "Legs" and "Sharp Dressed Man." Not long ago the trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and were ranked number 44 on VH1 cable's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock."

For forty years now ZZ Top has been changing rock and roll history. They have released 19 albums since 1971 and plan to start recording a new album by the end of this year. After the successful "In Your Face Tour" in 2008, they planned to join forces with Aerosmith for a 2009 tour. The tour was just recently cancelled, but ZZ Top is still going strong and headlining every show the two bands were scheduled to play.
