The Killers Information

The Killers are an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Their genres include indie rock, alternative rock, post-punk revival and heartland rock. Members include Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards), Dave Keuning (guitar, backing vocals), Mark Stoermer (bass, backing vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion).

The band has released four studio albums. The first was "Hot Fuss" released in 2004. They went on their Hot Fuss Tour starting in the UK in May of that year. The album reached No. 1 in the U.K. in January 2005, seven months after its release. It has been classified 6x Platinum by the BPI and also 3x Platinum in Australia, the United States and Canada. Hit songs from this album include "Mr. Brightside," "All These Things That I've Done" and "Somebody Told Me." The album led them to be nominated for three Grammy Awards and they won an NME Award in the U.K. for Best International Band.

Their second album "Sam's Town" was released in October 2006 and received a mixed response of some praising and some mocking. Their third album "Day & Age," however, was released in November 24, 2008 and became the band's third studio album to reach number one in both the U.K. and Ireland as well as reaching number six on the Billboard 200 album chart. It was also certified 4x Platinum. After the release of this album the band went on a worldwide "Day & Age Tour" until 2010. The tour sold out shows both domestically and internationally.

The Killers announced they would be going on a short break in January 2010. The band worked on solo projects for the next year and a half then returned to the stage in 2011 when they headlined the new International Lolla palooza Festival in Santiago Chile. They appeared in numerous other festivals throughout 2011 then began work on their fourth studio album in May. This album, entitled "Battle Born" was released September 18, 2012. The Killers will be headlining festivals throughout North America and Europe in 2012. They will be at Boston's Agganis Arena on December 17, 2012 at 7:30pm.
