Rob Zombie Information
Massachusetts native Rob Zombie has dipped his feet into just about every form of artistic expression there is. While he began his venture as a rock star, Zombie has since become an accomplished film director, screenwriter, producer and most recently comic book artist. As the front man of White Zombie, he accrued the stage name “Rob Zombie†and created riff-based guitar rock influenced by horror films and the surreal. While Zombie performed with the band from 1985 to 1998 before venturing out into a solo career after collaboration with Alice Cooper. He currently has four feature length films under his belt with two more currently in production.
Zombie’s latest addition to his solo catalog is Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool (2010), released this past February. The first Hellbilly was the first album he released as a solo artist and plays as a companion album to the original. Although the album was completed over a year ago, Zombie’s simultaneous work on the remake Halloween 2 overshadowed the album’s release. The album debuted at no. 8 on the Billboard chart, selling 49,000 copies in its first week of release. A reissue of the album will be released this September with new artwork and a new version of "The Man Who Laughs" and a bonus DVD containing a touring documentary titled "Transylvanian Transmissionsâ€. Rob Zombie will be performing at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA on October 16th after playing three shows with Alice Cooper.
