New York Jets Information

The New York Jets are current members of the Eastern Division of the AFC. They currently share a home field with the New York Giants at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. After being founded in 1959 as the Titans of New York in the American Football League, the franchise joined the NFL in the AFL-NFL merger. They began play in 1960 and did not advance to the playoffs until 1968 where they went all the way and became the first AFL team to defeat an NFL club in an AFL-NFL World Championship Game. Since then, the Jets have had thirteen playoff appearances, and won four Division Championships. They have not won a League Championship since 1968.

Last season the 2011 New York Jets did not qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2008. They finished second in the AFC East with a record of 8-8. This season they hope to make it back into playoff contention. The most valuable players on their roster include tackles D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Jason Smith, quarterback Mark Sanchez, center Nick Mangold, linebackers Bart Scott and Calvin Pace, and wide receiver Santonio Holmes.
