Holiday Bowl Information, The Holiday Bowl is a division 1 NCAA college football post-season game, usually showcasing teams from the Pac-10 and Big-12 conferences. Since 1978 the event has taken place at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. The official sponsor of the bowl is Pacific Life Insurance Company. In last yearâ€™s game Oregon out-scored Oklahoma St. 42-31 in a heavy offensive battle.
The most memorable Holiday Bowl contest was in 1980 when BYU came back from 20 points down with just four minutes remaining, including a touchdown in the final seconds to pull ahead 46-45. Most fans when looking back refer to the game as "The Miracle Bowl." BYU leads all Holiday Bowl appearances at eleven, followed by Texas who has made just four trips to the annual event.
