Music City Bowl Information, The Music City bowl is an NCAA division 1 post-season bowl game located in Nashville Tennessee. The annual event started in 1998 at Vanderbilt Stadium but shifted to LP field the year after. The Bowl game has conference tie-ins with the ACC and SEC. Big East and Big Ten teams have also been featured in previous years.
The Music City Bowl is mostly known for its frequent upsets. Six out of the nine games have resulted in lower ranked teams coming out on top. The most thrilling upset to date was when Kentucky defeated Clemson 28-20 in 2006. In 2008 Vanderbilt battled past the 24th-ranked Boston College Eagles 16-14. This yearâ€™s contest is set for Sunday, December 27th. Kentucky and Minnesota have racked up the most bowl appearances at three.
