Massive Attack Information

Massive Attack is a collaborative British music production duo from Bristol. Working alongside co-producers, various session musicians and guest vocalists, they make records and tour live. The duo is considered to be originators of the trip hop genre. Originally three, DJs Daddy G, Mushroom and graffiti artist-turned-MC 3D met as members of the DJ/MC collective, The Wild Bunch. One of the first homegrown sound systems in the UK, The Wild Bunch dominated the Bristol club scene in the mid-1980s.

Started as a spin-off production trio in ’88 with the self-released hit "Any Love", Massive Attack signed to Circa Records in 1990, delivering three hit albums in the UK throughout the ‘90s. Following the release of a 2009 EP Splitting the Atom, Massive released Heligoland, a much more organic-sounding album put out this February and certified gold in the UK. The album features many vocalists from the Gorillaz, to TV on the Radio, Mazzy Star and Portishead and peaked on Billboard charts all throughout Europe. Massive Attack is currently on tour in the US in promotion of Heligoland
