Kid Rock Information
Singer/song-writer, musician, and rocker Kid Rock is a five-time Grammy Award nominee. He got his start in 1988 and has released eight studio albums, including his 1990 debut, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast. He also has one live album and one compilation album. His latest album, Born Free, came in 2010.
Real name, Robert James â€œBobâ€ Ritchie, Kid Rock first signed with Jive Records in 1990 and was a big success in his hometown Detroit. Jive Records did not push the album much and dropped him from the label in 1991. Kid Rock then met DJ Uncle Kracker and signed with Continuum Records. He released his second album, The Polyfuze Method, in 1993 which again had local success.
In 1998, Kid signed with Atlantic and released Devil Without A Cause. He has stayed with the label for the rest of his career so far. His success really took off at his 1999 performance at Woodstock. From there, his career skyrocketed and album sales increased tremendously. Hit singles include, â€œCowboy,â€ â€œOnly God Knows Why,â€ â€œPictureâ€ with Sheryl Crow, and â€œAll Summer Long.â€
Since 1989, Kid has been on 28 tours, including last yearâ€™s Care Tour. He has a few dates scheduled for performances that includes Boston on June 1 at the House of Blues.
