Keith Urban Information
Keith Urban is an Australian country music singer who has been playing at local night clubs since the age of 12. In 1990 he signed with EMI in Australia and his first solo album charted four #1 country hits. In 1992, he moved to Nashville and fronted a three-piece group called The Ranch, which put out one album before Keith left to pursue a solo career. In 2000 he released his self-titled debut album, which produced three top-5 hits and scored him the Top New Male Vocalist Award at the 2001 Academy of Country Music Awards and the 2001 Country Music Association's Horizon Award.
His album "Golden Road" was released in 2002, and the hit "Somebody Like You" stayed at the top of the country charts for eight consecutive weeks. In every country in which the album was released, Golden Road went platinum, including triple platinum in the United States. In 2004, his album "Be Here" was released and three of the tracks from the album went to #1 on the charts. By 2006, the album had also gone triple platinum. The four-time Grammy Award-winning artist has now become known for his time as a judge and coach on popular television singing competitions "The Voice" and "American Idol."
