Disney On Ice Information

Disney On Ice has been performing variations of their hit films since 1981 when they began as “Walt Disney’s World On Ice.” The family show combines familiar and beloved musical numbers, ice skating routines, and thrilling theatric into one performance. Different, simultaneous productions tour around the world. Since 1981, there have been 27 shows, including the longest running “Mickey and Minnie’s Amazing Journey” and “100 Years of Magic.” They changed their name to “Disney on Ice” in 1998.

1995’s “Mickey and Minnie’s Amazing Journey” features the title characters and numbers from The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, and Peter Pan. “100 Years of Magic,” starting in 1999, includes classic hits like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast.” Other recent shows are 2006’s “Princess Wishes: Princesses and Heroes” featuring all of the princesses and their romantic interests, 2008’s “World of Fantasy” with characters from Cars, The Little Mermaid, and Toy Story 3. “Let’s Celebrate!” started in 2009 and has a number of classics mixed in with newer characters.

2011 brought both “Dare to Dream” and “Treasure Trove,” both of which features characters from new and old Disney princess films and continues to tour in the U.S. Disney announced an upcoming 2012 show, which will premiere in September.
