Columbus Blue Jackets Information

The Blue Jackets are based in Columbus Ohio and were founded in 2000. They compete in the NHL's Central Division of the Western Conference. In their very short history, they struggled to make the playoffs up until the 2009 season. With a 41-31-10 record, they advanced to the Quarterfinals, and went up against the heavily favored Detroit Red Wings. They were unable to get the underdog win and Detroit moved on to the next series after just four games.

In the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons, the Blue Jackets did not have repeat success and could only come up with 32 and 34 wins and losing records for two straight years. The 2011-12 season was not any better. The Blue Jackets ended with an overall record of 29-46 and did not qualify for the playoffs.
