Cincinnati Reds Information

The Reds were established in 1869 and have been members of the National League since 1890. They play in the NL Central Division. The Reds have won five World Series Titles and nine NL Pennants. "The Big Red Machine" of the '70's may have been the best years for the franchise. With legends such as Johnny Bench and Pete Rose, the Reds won back to back World Series in 1975-1976.

Cincinnati hadn't made the playoffs since 1995 when they clinched the NL Central division. After defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, they were knocked out in the National League Championship series by the Atlanta Braves. They finished 4th in the NL Central in 2009 with a 78-84 record. But in 2010, the Reds made a spectacular run, and placed first in their division with a 91-71 record, led by first baseman Joey Votto. They lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS, but made great strides towards improving their club.

In 2011, they struggled again coming in third with a 79-83 record. Look for the Reds to come back strong with their young team in 2012.
