Broken Social Scene Information

Broken Social Scene is a Canadian supergroup, an alternative orchestra with core members Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning as well as revolving members from other bands like Feist, Stars and Metric. Their 4th studio album, Forgiveness Rock Record debuted at #34 on the US Billboard 200 and presents many social and political topics that so very well represent the liberal standpoint of the band members. The album features many longer songs that ought to make for great live jam sessions throughout their tour.

While most of their material and ambient and instrumental, the addition of stars from other thriving indie bands helped to flesh out their live shows and those contributions became more consistent with the release of their second album You Forgot it in People (2002). 2006’s Broken Social Scene was named Alternative Album of the Year at that year’s Juno Awards. The band’s ever changing lineup has included up to 15 members at one given point, both in the studio and at live shows. The band’s newest member Reverie Sound Revue’s Lisa Lobsinger provides most of the lead vocals on their latest album. Broken Social Scene will be coming to the House of Blues September 17th as a promotional tour for Forgiveness Rock Record.
