David von Mering and Carter Schultz make up the musical duo, Aer. The pair is from Wayland, Massachusetts but have had gone on multiple college tours all over the country and sold out headline shows in Boston, New York City, Dallas, Austin and Washington DC. They find their musical influences in reggae, indie rock and acoustic pop with a strong rap component.
Their first mixtape, "The Reach," was released in May of 2011 and was sponsored by the popular college music blog, Good Music All Day. It has a total of over 100,000 downloads. Their EP released in October of 2011 called "What You Need" reached the No. 1 album on the iTunes hip-hop charts and made the top ten of the iTunes overall album charts. Aer spent the summer of 2012 on the road with OCD: Moosh & Twist. They hit 37 countries in the US. Also this summer, Aer released their debut album, "The Bright Side," on July 30. The album quickly reached No. 1 on the iTunes Album Charts and was on the Billboard Hot 100. Their first headline national tour, "The Bright Side Tour," will cover over 48 cities.
