The 2009 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship will start February 23rd and continue to March 1st. The tournament will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana, Arizona. Formed by the International Federation of PGA Tours, the three annual events showcase the PGA Tour, the European Tour, and the Japan Golf Tour. Tiger Woods beat out Stewart Cink 8 to 7 in last years Championship round. This knockout matchplay format serves as one of the most exciting tournaments in Golf, as the best in the world compete to represent their respective leagues and Countries. The WGC-CA tournament is set to begin March 12. This event holds a more traditional Golf format, but still showcases the best golfers from the 3 stand out leagues in the World. Geoff Olgilvy won the event in 2008, but Tiger Woods has won 6 out of the 9 WGC-CA exsisting tournaments. This years tournament will be held at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, FL.

The last tournament of the year between the three is the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational held at Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH. This event will take place August 6th. Vijay Singh won the event in 2008, making him the most winning international player on the PGA tour.
