Wake Forest Demon Deacons Information, The Demon Decons (previously known as the fighting Baptists) represent Wake Forest University, fielding 16 teams to compete for the school in the NCAA Division 1 Atlantic Coast Conference. For women the premiere sport has been field hockey since winning three straight national championships in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Their men’s baseball, golf and soccer teams have also earned national titles for Wake Forest. The football program holds a total record of 406-586-33 and has won two conference titles since their first season in 1888.
