The Villanova Wildcats compete in the NCAA Division 1 Big East Conference except for their football team, who play in the Division 1 AA Colonial Athletic Association. The program prides itself mostly on their basketball program, which reached the Final Four this year after beating top-ranked Pitt in the Elite Eight. To reach that game they stomped over the Duke Blue Devils 77-54 in the Sweet Sixteen. They have also made it to the Final Four three other times in 1939, 1971, and 1985. 1985 marks their only National title.
