The Green Wave stands for Tulane University's athletic programs that compete in the NCAA Division 1 Conference-USA. The name originated from the schools newspaper called "The Rolling Green Wave." Tulane features 14 varsity sports but plans to add two more by 2011. Based in New Orleans, their primarily playing fields are the Louisiana Superdome, Goldring Tennis Stadium and Avron B. Fogelman Arena. Current team sports include football, men and women's basketball, baseball, women's volleyball, track and cross country, tennis, women's golf, and women's swimming and diving
