Great performance, mediocre sound, bewildering audience

Despite being a big fan from the beginning, this was the first time I saw Tori. We got some really good seats (7th row left of center). Her performance was fabulous and I enjoyed hearing both songs from Night of the Hunter as well as older songs and a couple of covers. The string quartet was brilliant and added immensely to both new and old songs!
Now the negative. We found the sound muddled although Tori's voice often rose above. Being left of center we only heard the left side speakers. Perhaps, I would have given up visual closeness for a better sound. Finally, I'm amazed at how much time people spent recording, photographing and videoing the performance. They don't even seem to be paying attention to the concert. Maybe I'm just too old to understand, but I've always found good concerts to be fully demanding of my attention.
