Tim McGraw News

Tim McGraw Information

Hands down one of the most successful country artists to date, Tim McGraw has single handedly sold over 40 million albums, produced 11 consecutive albums that debuted at Number One on the Billboard album charts and yielded 30 no. 1 singles. McGraw’s sophomore album in 1994 was the best-selling country album of the year, delivering “Indian Outlaw”, his first top ten single. The album also won his two Academy of Country Music Awards, Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. It was these starting years that cemented the image that helped his career take off, “a ruggedly good looking guy with a sensitive side”. Since, McGraw has won a total of 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards and three Grammys while also taking on several minor acting roles and a lead role in 1996’s Flicka.

In February, Tim McGraw and his band, the Dancehall Doctors, kicked off a six-month North American tour in promotion of his 10th studio album, Southern Voice, released October 2009. The album’s tone is intense, with a focus on his small town upbringings, while also featuring light hearted summertime anthems such as the single “It’s a Business Doing Pleasure with You”. The tour has been underway since February 11th where it began in Omaha, NE and will wrap up at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, August 15th. McGraw will also be performing next week, June 9th for the CMT Music Awards in Nashville alongside a star-studded cast including Zac Brown Band, Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum and host Kid Rock. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill also recently announced a charity concert to take place June 22nd called Nashville Rising to benefit flood recovery throughout Tennessee.
