The Strokes are comprised lead singer/songwriter Julian Casablancas, guitarist Nick Valensi, bassist Nikolai Fraiture, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. The New York City rockers have had a great number of successful tour dates within the last few years, this including their 2006 promotional tour for "First Impressions of Earth," where they visited such cities as, Chicago, Tokyo, Sydney, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Madrid, Milan, and Berlin. Each show sold a total of 300 tickets each. Fans flooded the lines of local radio stations trying to win tickets as well as camping in front of ticket offices on Europe's dueling winter weather.
Some past albums by The Strokes have received differing reviews. One of the band's past albums, "Room on Fire" released October 2003, received great reviews from the press but not as good reviews from fans in comparison to their debut album, "Is This It?" The Strokes are expecting to release their first studio album in five years this March. Additional tour plans have yet to be revealed, but group members have confirmed full commitment to their comeback. "We want to come back strong but slowly, so we can grow live and also make new music," said guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. "We want to release albums quicker." the Strokes are scheduled to celebrate their return at Madison Square Garden Friday, April 1st before taking part in the Coachella and Bonnaro festivals.
