Home to the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins the TD Banknorth Garden replaced the old Boston Garden when it opened as the Fleetcenter on September 30, 1995. It held the Fleetcenter name until Fleet was bought by Bank of America in 2004. With no sponsor for the facility after Fleet, single day naming rights were auctioned off for charity on EBAY from 2/10/05-3/13/05. The facility was even named the AceTicket.com Center for a day.
The 19,600 capacity facility also plays host to a plethora of concerts and special events throughout the year such as Wrestling, Figure Skating, and Conventions. It was the site of the 2004 Democratic Convention.
