Born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 7, 1976, Taylor Hicks has always been a musical soul. His recent success and recognition comes from winning it all on the 5th season of the hit T.V. Reality competition, American Idol. Taylor's mix of Blues, Soul and R&B won over the country when all the votes were tallied. Despite earlier attempts to kick start his musical career, including a stint in Nashville, Taylor was never able to break through. Although he recorded two albums before competing on American Idol, Taylor never violated American Idol rules since he was never signed to a recording contract. That of course has all changed for the young star. After winning Idol he signed a record contract with Arista Records.
Since winning American Idol and briefly touring with the show, Taylor has spent most of his time recording his recently released alblum Taylor Hicks. Following the album Taylor Hicks began a tour of North America. Tickets are now available for all Taylor Hicks shows.
