Tarzan information, Tarzan is the new Broadway musical presented by Disney Theatrical Productions. It is based upon the Tarzan stories of Edgar Rice Burroughs. The score is by the six- time Grammy Award Winner Phil Collins, who also won an Oscar for ìYouíll be In My Heartî which was the song featured in the 1999 film. Tarzan is the story about a shipwreck that leaves an infant orphaned. The helpless boy is taken under the protection of a gorilla tribe and becomes apart of there family, when he eventually encounters his first human Jane Porter- a curious explorer. Both of there worlds are transformed forever. More than 90 years ago, Edgar Rice Burroughs introduced Tarzan to the world in the October 1912 issue of All Story Magazine. The character was an instant sensation. Since then, he has been featured in 26 authorized novels and more than 44 motion pictures. Now Disney brings Tarzan to the Broadway stage. On May 10, 2006 Tarzan opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. Audiences have said it is the most visually enthralling show since the ìLion King.î The stage has been transformed into a vast jungle, and it almost gives you a cirque Du Soleil kind of feeling, with all the things flying through the air. But most importantly besides the staging, costumes and talent, the story really gives you a sense of love and understanding; It is definitely an adventure worth taking.
