Information

The Golden Eagles are the name for the 14 varsity programs that compete for the University of Southern Mississippi in the NCAA Division 1 Conference USA. Southern Miss fans commonly wear black and gold when cheering behind their beloved mascot Seymour d'Campus. Primary playing fields include M.M. Roberts Stadium (The Rock), Reed Green Coliseum, and Pete Taylor Park.

The football program definitely serves as most popular around campus. NFL's current Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre and former NFL punter Ray Guy were once Golden Eagles back in the day. USM won the National championship as voted by the UPI in 1958 and 1962.
