San Jose Sharks information, The Sharks were formed in 1991 and play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. Their seasons have ended in the Conference Semifinals for three years straight (2006, 2007,and 2008). Last year the Sharks finished out the regular season with a 53-18-11 record, but lost in the Quarterfinals to the Anaheim Ducks in six games.
Although the Sharks have been successful for the past two years, things have shaken up for the franchise more than ever this off-season. Heading into their 2010 campaign the Sharks parted ways with Claude Lemieux, Marcel Goc, Lukas Kaspar, Tomas Plihal and alternate captain Mike Grier. The only free agent signing thus far is center, Scott Nichol.
