Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival Information
The Mayhem festival includes various metal bands touring across the U.S. and Canada. Sponsored by the Rockstar Energy Company, it got its start in 2008. It was created by Kevin Lyman who is known for the Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Down From the Mountain Tour, The Watcha Tour, and Spite Liquid Mix Tour.
Each year, the festival has three separate stages for its act- The Main Stage, The Jagermeister Stage, and a stage created by sponsors.
The first Mayhem festival featured heavy metal and hard rock bands Slipknot, Disturbed, DragonForce, and Mastodon on the Main Stage, Machine Head, Airbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, and Walls of Jericho on the Jagermeister Stage, and Underoath, Black Tide, Suicide Silence, 36 Crazyfists, and The Red Chord on the Hot Topic Stage. They toured across spots in the U.S. throughout July and August.
2009 featured Main Stage performers Marilyn Manson, Slayer, Killswitch Engage, and Mushroomhead. Jagermeister Stage performances were by Trivium, All That Remains, and God Forbid. The Hot Topic Stage featured Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Job for a Cowboy, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Whitechapel.
In 2010, The Main Stage had Korn, Rob Zombie, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God, and Five Finger Death Punch. Jagermeister featured Hatebreed, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, and Winds of Plague. Silver Star Stage had Atreyu, Norma Jean, In This Moment, and 3 Inches of Blood.
Last year’s Main Stage saw Disturbed, Godsmack, and Megadeth (who was then replaced by Dethklock) take the stage. Jagermeister Mobile had In Flames for a few dates before being replaced by The Athiarchists, Trivium replaced by Hatebreed, Unearth, Kingdom of Sorrow, and Red Fang. Revolver Stage had Machine Head, In Flames replaced by Testament, Suicide Silence, and Straight Line Stitch.
This year, the 2012 tour will have Slipknot, Slayor, and Motorhead on the Main Stage. Jagermeister will feature Anthrax, Whitechapel, and High on Fire. The Sumerian Records Stage will have Upon A Burning Body, and I, The Breahter. Additional rotating bands include Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, and As I Lay Dying.
The tour kicks off June 30 in San Bernardino, CA and will play across the U.S., ending in Hartford, CT on August 5.
