Featuring the soundtrack to the eighties era, the Broadway jukebox musical Rock of Ages is taking its run on the road. The musical visits the romance between a small town girl and the big city rocker she fell in love with on LA’s Sunset Strip in 1987, featuring the songs that sparked their story. The arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of Journey, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Foreigner and more. The two love-struck dreamers navigate the seedy world that accompanies hair-metal- drugs and mullets for example- while in the process discovering themselves and falling head over heels for each other.

The New York Times says of Rock of Ages: “the attractions… extend well beyond the extensions- written with winky wit by Chris D’Arienzo, directed with zest by Kristin Hanggi, sung with scorching heat by a spirited cast, and featuring a towering stack of heavy-rotation favorites from the glory years”. The Tony-nominated star Constantine Maroulis, who got his start as a top-ten contestant on American Idol in 2005, will be a part of the touring cast playing the lead role, Drew. The tour kicks off mid-September in Chicago, playing at Boston’s Colonial Theater from October 5th to the 17th.
