Robert Plant information, Robert Plant was born on August 20th, 1948 in West Midlands, England and is a well known English rock singer/songwriter. He became famous through his membership with the English rock and roll band Led Zeppelin as the lead vocalist. Plant is known for his wide vocal range, his powerful style, and magical lyrics that always seem to please fans.

As Led Zeppelin's lead singer, Plant was often described on stage as the classic front man for rock that combined his musical knowledge and adaptability of stage with an incredible stage presence to make his shows electric.

Plant recently recorded an album with bluegrass star Alison Krauss called Raising Sand. The album went gold and reached the number 2 spot on the charts in both the UK and the US. The two are currently on a US tour to promote the album's sound.
