LOGE 10 Row 14
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Evolving, and Still Legendary
May 08, 2012
RHCP is still putting on mammoth shows almost 30 years into their careers. Josh, their new addition on guitar, does a perfect job paying homage to his predecessor, John Fruiscante, while invoking his own style and energy. Anthony and Flea maintain the youthful, primal energy that made them famous while still conveying an air of maturity and class honed after innumerable years of musicians companionship. Finally, Chad smith (with two new backup rhythm section members in tow) is still as much a powerhouse as ever. Their unbelievable repertoire yields one crowd-smashing hit after another - from lighter-wielding sing-a-longs to head-banging funk-rockers, this show was one to remember!

Exhausted with a Smile!

Wow! I was tired and I wasn't jumping and jamming on the stage like RHCP. Tons of energy! Band was solid and tight! New guitarist was phenomenal! He kept up seamlessly with drums and bass who were incredible. Great light show! I don't like even like Monarchy of Roses but loved how hard they played it.

Red Hot Chili Peppers News

Red Hot Chili Peppers Information

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are easily in the top three amongst Alternative Rock Bands of our time. Since their 1991 breakthrough album, Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik the Chili Peppers have been setting the music world on fire. Although there have been plenty of bumps in the road along the way, (drugs, death, etc) in 23 years of making music the Red Hot Chili Peppers have produced ten successful studio album, hold an industry record with 12 #1 Alternative Rock hits, and have seven #1 singles on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. They have won six Grammy Awards and will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012.

It was the 1999 release of Californication, that really allowed the Chili Peppers to achieve success in yet another decade. This album saw the return of John Frusciante on guitar. Frusciante had been absent since the Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour. His replacement Dave Navarro never really fit in with the rest of the Chili Peppers. After several years of drugs and then rehab, Frusciante returned to the group refreshed and sober, intent on making great music once again. In 2006, they released Stadium Arcadium and debuted at #1 in the U.S. They followed the album with a world tour and performed at music Festivals like Coachella and Live Earth.

After the tour, the Chili Peppers went on hiatus until they reunited in October 2009, without Frusciante. Back-up John Klinghoffer officially joined as guitarist and the band started recording their tenth album. In January 2010, they performed live at MusiCares. They released I’m With You in August 2011. On August 31, their concert showed in movie theaters around the world.

The I’m With You Tour kicked off September 11, 2011 and is expected to continue on through 2013.
