The Trail Blazers were founded in 1970. The Blazers play in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. They won their only NBA Championship in 1977. They also have three Conference Championships; the last one being in 1992. They haven't made it to the playoffs since the 2002-03 season.
In the midst of the 2009 season the Trailblazers are battling for playoff contention. They are led by young stars Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. If these two can step up for the remainder of the year Portland just might earn a bottom seed for the 2009 playoffs.
