Information

Formed by members Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal, and David Lovering, the Boston natives known as The Pixies first came together in 1986. The band is known to some as one of the most influential rock bands to never reach mainstream success. When asked to follow their act at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Radiohead's Tom Yorke stated "No! That's just not right! The Pixies opening for us is like the Beatles opening for us. I won't allow it. There's no way we can follow the Pixies!"

The Pixies disbanded in 1993, but have been together since reuniting in 2004. Their most popular album "Doolittle" features the hits "Monkey Gone to Heaven," "Here Comes Your Man," and "Debaser." NME ranked "Doolittle" #2 on their 100 Best Albums List. Black Francis has said that the band will plan to record their sixth studio album by the spring of 2010. They are set to perform at the Wang Theater in Boston, MA on September 12th after a series of shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
