The Pittsburgh Steelers are current members of the North Division of the AFC. The team was founded in 1933 and are the oldest franchise in the AFC. They player their home games at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Steelers' have had a very successful history as a franchise. They have won more Super Bowl titles and AFC Championship Games than any other AFC or NFC team. They also share the record with the Dallas Cowboys for the most Super Bowl appearances (eight). Their total accomplishments include twenty-seven playoff appearances, twenty Division Championships, eight Conference Championships and six Super Bowl Championships.

Last season the 2011 Pittsburgh Steelers finished second in the AFC North with a record of 12-4. They had hoped to defend their AFC Championship from the 2010 season but lost in overtime to the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. This year they hope to turn things around. The most valuable players on the team include quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown, safety Troy Polamalu, and linebackers LaMarr Woodley, James Harrison and Lawrence Timmons.
