Pittsburgh Penguins information, The Pittsburg Penguins were founded in 1967, and compete in the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. In their history they have won two Stanley Cup championships (1991, 1992), hold three conference championships, and have won their division six times.
NHL sensation Sidney Crosby led the Penguins to the finals in 2008, only to lose to the Detroit Red Wings in six games. Since Crosby entered the league in 2005 the Penguins have been nothing but optimistic. Crosby posted 39G and 63A in his rookie year, becoming the youngest player in NHL history to record a 100-point season.
In 2009 the Penguins faced off against the Red Wings again in the finals and this time came out as champions, making the 22 year old Crosby the youngest captain ever to win a Stanley Cup. For as long as the Penguins have Crosby as their leader, they will always find themselves in playoff contention fighting for a championship.
