O.A.R. Information

American rock band O.A.R. got its start in 1996. Members include Marc Roberge, Chris Culos, Richard On, Benj Gershman, and Jerry DePizzo. They have an alternative/indie rock sound and have released seven studio albums, four live albums, and one EP. Distribution has had a focus on campuses, and the band has gained huge recognition from college students.

O.A.R.’s first album, The Wanderer, was self-released in 1997. They performed many live shows, trying to gain acclaim through word-of-mouth. They released their second album, Soul’s Aflame, in 2000 under Oarfin Records.

In 2001, they signed with Everfine Records and released their third album, Risen. It was the first time they made the Billboard charts, reaching #11 for internet sales. The fourth album, Any Time Now, hit #156 on the Billboard 200 chart.

They signed with Lava Records and released their next three albums, 2003’s Inbetween Now and Then, 2005’s Stories of a Stranger, and 2008’s All Sides. In 2011, they released their latest album, King. With each album, they have gained more success. They hit #54, #40, #13, and finally #12 on the Billboard 200 charts, showing that they are increasing their fanbase.

O.A.R. will kick off a new tour April 20 at Alfred State College and Alfred University in Alfred, NY. They will continue on throughout the summer to spots across the US.
