Montreal Canadiens Information

One of the original six teams, the Canadiens were founded in 1909. Since their inception they have won 24 Stanley Cups, which is the most titles held by any franchise in the NHL. Percentage wise, they have won 26% of all Stanley cup championships. Their last Cup win was in the 1992-93 season.

In 2008, Montreal made the playoffs with a 47-25 record, but failed to make it past the Conference Semifinals where they lost to the Philadelphia Flyers in fiv egames. 2008 was memorable for celebrating 100 years as a franchise, and also becoming the first team to earn 3,000 total wins.

They made it right back into the post-season with a 41-30-11 record in 2009. They met up against the Bruins for the second year in a row in the quarter finals, but this time were unable to come out victorious. In the 2010-2011 campaign, they played the Bruins once again and lost. The 2011-12 season has not been great for the Canadiens as they are currently in last place. Look for them to finish off the season then come into the next year looking to make a strong start.
