Montreal Canadiens information, One of the original six teams, the Canadiens were founded in 1909. Since their inception they have won 24 Stanley Cups, which is the most amount of titles held by any franchise in the NHL. Percentage wise they have won 26% of all Stanley cup championships. Their last Cup win was in the 1992-93 season.
In 2008 Montreal made the playoffs with a 47-25 record, but failed to make it past the Conference Semifinals where they lost to the Philadelphia Flyers in 5 games. 2008 was memorable knowing they celebrated 100 years as a franchise, and they also became the first team to earn 3,000 total wins.
Last year they made it right back into the post-season with a 41-30-11 record. They met up against the Bruins for the second year in a row in the quarter finals, but this time were not able to come out victorious. Expect the Canadiens to post a good record for 2010 and make for some exciting competition in the playoffs.
