Minnesota Wild News

Minnesota Wild Information

The Minnesota Wild were founded in 2000 and play in the Northwest division of the Western Conference. In their third season, the Wild made their first trip to the playoffs, eventually losing in the Conference finals to the Mighty Ducks.

After making it to the playoffs for two consecutive seasons, the 2009 Wild wound up 40-33-9 with no playoff spot. The franchise then completely flipped the staff around, replacing coach Jacques Lemaire and GM Doug Risebrough with Todd Richards and Chuck Fletcher. In the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons, they missed out on the playoffs for three straight years.

This season, with only 29 wins and a handful of games left in the regular season, the Wild will most likely not make the playoffs. Now almost four years out of the postseason, the team will try to finish the season off strong and make their team better for the next season.
