Minnesota Vikings information, The Minnesota Vikings entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1961. At times throughout their history the Vikings have been among the best teams in the league. They have one NFL Championship to their credit from 1969. The Vikings were also the first team to play in four Super Bowls. Unfortunately they also have the distinction of being the only team to lose four Super Bowls.
Led by Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson, the Vikings will be definite competitors for the upcoming 2009-2010 season. Last year they finished first in the NFC North but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round 26-14. The Vikings front office has stated that the only missing piece to achieving that illusive NFL championship is an experienced quarterback.
Brett Favre has been their priority all off-season. Before training camp Minnesota reached out to the 17 year veteran and made him and offer. Favre said at the time that he would like to stay retired, at which point they looked to either Sage Rosenfels or Tavaris Jackson to assume the starting role. Despite Favre’s decision Vikings players remained in contact with him; sending him messages about how well he would fit into the Vikings offense. In late August of this year the organization reached out again, and this time Favre agreed. The Vikings will definitely be competitors in the NFC, but there is no telling exactly how much of an impact Favre himself will make for the Minnesota franchise.

The only 5-0 team to actually have a contest in order for them to stay undefeated was the Denver Broncos. They surged back in the second half against the New England Patriots [...]

The Quarterback controversy continues, as Detroit Lions coaches Steve Mariucci and Mike Martz have just announced that they will start veteran QB Daunte Culpepper for their upcoming preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts this Saturday. “We’re going to do what’s best for our club,” said Schwartz. “We’re going to do what’s best for the guy [...]
