Information
The Twins were originally established in 1901 as the Washington Nationals/Senators. They moved to Minnesota in 1961 and became the Twins. The Minnesota Twins play in the American League Central Division. As a franchise the Twins have won three World Series titles, the last one in 1991. They have won the Central Division 4 times since 2002 most recently in 2006.
In 2008 the Twins finished with a 88-75 record after losing a 1 game playoff to the Chicago White Sox. The home field advantage was decided by a coin flip. Starting in 2009 the location of a tiebreaker will be decided by the regular season head-to-head record between teams involved. Minnesota will be looking for revenge in the upcoming 2009 season. Between the Twins, Sox, Tigers, and Indians, expect a race tighter than ever in the AL Central division.
