Minnesota Timberwolves information, The Minnesota Timberwolves were founded in 1989. They play in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. They have made the playoffs eight times and have advanced past the first round just one time.
In 2007 they traded away their franchise player Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics for some fresh talent with hopes of a turn around. They have been unsuccessful for the past couple of seasons, and the 2009 Timberwolves certainly didn’t break the trend with a regular season record of 24-58. Despite built up frustration season by season, there is still hope for Timberwolves fans. They are currently developing a nucleus of young talent that show definite promise. They have continued to build by drafting Jonny Flynn out of Syracuse, who recently just won NBA summer league player of the month.
