Miami Heat information, The Miami Heat were founded in 1988. They play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. The Heat won their first and only NBA Championship in 2006 led by Dwayne Wade and Shaq. After making the playoffs again in 2007, they failed to come close in 2008 after finishing with a disappointing 15-67 record.

Miami returned to playoff form in 2009 with an injury free Wade having one of his best seasons to date. He scored over 2,300 points with over 500 assists. After completing the regular season at 43-39, the Heat advanced to the first round to play against the Atlanta Hawks. In a hard fought seven game series Atlanta was able to edge out Miami. Wade alongside teammates Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers with another year under their belt certainly have the tools in place to be top contenders in the East.
