Memphis Grizzlies information, The Grizzlies were founded in 1995 as the Vancouver Grizzlies. They relocated to Memphis for the 2001 season. After reaching the playoffs for two consecutive years the Grizzlies didn't qualify in 2007 or 2008.

The 2009 Grizzlies unfortunately did not finish with a record anywhere near their division leaders. This season marks the third year in a row where the Grizzlies were unable to win more than 25 games. Despite their recent losing streak, the franchise can only look to a promising future. They currently have young stars O.J. Mayo and Rudy Gay leading the team with newly acquired veteran guard Allen Iverson. As players gain more experience together the Grizzlies will be a likely threat in the years to come.

The franchise recently made some changes in their staff, hiring Lional Hollins as new head coach. With the second overall pick in the NBA Draft they selected UConn center Hasheem Thabeet and later selected DeMarre Carroll from the University of Missouri with the 27th overall pick.
