The Golden Flashes are the 16 varsity programs that represent Kent State University, who compete in the NCAA Division 1 Mid-American Conference. Behind mascot Flash the Golden Eagle, players and fans alike wear navy blue and gold with pride. Their most recognizable playing fields consist of Dix Stadium, Memorial Athletics and Convocation Center, and Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium.

Men's basketball and baseball are the Golden Flashes most popular sports. The basketball team has won five MAC titles with five NCAA Tournament appearances and seven NIT Tournament showings. KSU baseball won seven MAC Championships (their latest was in 2009).
