Jimmy Buffett information, Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi. His early years didn't really suggest a career in music. In fact Buffett didn't start playing guitar until he was in college. After graduating with a degree in journalism in 1969, Jimmy Buffett began his musical career in Nashville. He recorded his first album Down to Earth in 1970. Buffett spent the rest of the early '70's establishing his beach bum persona in Key West. In 1977 Buffett release one of his most successful and popular albums ever, Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes. This album gave us Buffett's most memorable song to date, "Margaritaville".

It was during the 1980's that Buffett became a huge touring success. His live shows usually start as all day tailgating parties for Buffett's fans, also known as "Parrotheads". At age 60 Jimmy Buffett has only slowed down a little bit. His extensive touring schedule still features around 20 shows a year. Always a fan of relaxation, Jimmy Buffett never plays back to back shows and usually performs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays only.
