After having to cancel a number of shows in support of U2 (after Bono had to undergo an emergency surgery), American rock band Interpol has decided to pull their own run of gigs. They kicked off their solo tour just a few nights ago in Rochester, NY and in celebration decided to add several extra dates throughout July and August. The New York show was Interpol’s first in two years, and not only did they debut fresh tracks from their upcoming album, but also two new members of the band, as a five-piece. Interpol is releasing a follow-up to 2007’s Our Love to Admire this coming September. Interpol is scheduled to play two MA shows, one in Northhampton at the Pearl Street Ballroom July 23rd and again in the summer at the House of Blues in Boston August 5th. The band recently released the music video for the upcoming album’s first single, Lights, a glossy ninja video with Gaga-style theatrics.
