Indiana Pacers information, The Pacers began play in the inaugural 1967-68 season of the American Basketball Association but they were invited to join the NBA beginning in the 1976-77 season. The Pacers won three ABA Championships but no NBA Championships. They came close in 2000, losing in the Finals to the Lakers.
Indiana finished 36-46 in 2008 and failed to make the playoffs. Last year they were unable to make any improvements, ending with the same disappointing record as the year before. Heading into 2010 the Pacers selected North Carolina stand out Tyler Hansbrough in the first round and UConn's A.J. Price in the second.
They also strengthened their roster by signing guard Dahntay Jones to a four year deal, forward Solomon Jones to a two year deal and point guard Earl Watson to a one year deal. Indiana later completed the buyout for point guard Jamaal Tinsley, as Jarrett Jack and Rasho Nesterovic left the franchise to sign with the Toronto Raptors. Hopefully the roster adjustments will work in their favor as they gear up to take on the season.
