Houston Rockets information, The Rockets were founded in 1967 as the San Diego Rockets and moved to Houston in 1970. The Rockets have won two NBA Titles in 1994 and 1995. They improved in 2007 after missing the playoffs in the 2006 season. In 2008 they earned a post-season spot, only to lose to the Utah Jazz in six games.

The Rockets finished last season with a 53-29 record and advanced to the Conference Semifinals. They took the Lakers all the way to seven games, but were eventually sent back to Houston. Franchise player Tracy McGrady is not likely to be fully recovered from off-season knee surgery by the start of next season. Stand-out center Yao Ming is also out with a hairline fracture. On July 8, 2009, the Rockets signed forward Trevor Ariza to a five-year, 32 million dollar contract using the Disabled Player Exception allowed by the league through the injury of Yao Ming. Houston should be able to formulate a winning 2010 season, but it will be hard for them to compete with the top teams in the West.
