Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Information, The Yellow Jackets are the name for all athletic teams representing the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Eight men's teams and seven women's teams compete in the Division 1 NCAA Atlantic Coast Conference for Georgia Tech. The athletic teams who are also referred to as 'The Ramblin' Reck, have been members of the ACC since 1978. Georgia Tech has quite the football program, bringing up current NFL players Calvin Johnson, Keith Brooking, Joe Burns, and Marco Coleman. Their basketball program is highly recognized on a national level as well. The Yellow Jackets have made 2 NCAA Final Four appearances and have won three ACC championships in the past 25 years. Georgia Tech has put together a respectful baseball program over the years, featuring MLB talent from Jason Varitek and Nomar Garciaparra to Mark Teixeira.
