George Carlin information, George Carlin was born on May 12th, 1937 and is a very well known American stand up comedian and actor. The Grammy award winning comic is especially noted for his black and political humor and his observations on language, psychology, and religion along with many taboo subjects. His "Seven Dirty Words" comedy routine were key to the U.S. Supreme Court case in 1978 known as F.C.C. v. Pacifica Foundation, in which a close 5-4 decision by the justices decided the government had the right to regulate Carlin's act on the public airwaves.

Carlin was the first person to host Saturday Night Live and is considered to be the successor to the late Lenny Bruce. He’s been described by Comedy Central as the 2nd greatest stand-up comic, only behind Richard Pryor.

George Carlin's current stand up routines mainly focus on attacking the flaws in modern-day America and what needs to change. He often takes on contemporary political issues in the United States and satirizes the unrestrained behavior of American culture. Carlin has appeared many times on the HBO television comedian specials and is a favorite of many generations.
