Information

Florida Panthers information, The Panthers were founded as an NHL expansion team in 1993. They compete in the Southeast division of the Eastern Conference. They did surprisingly well in their first year, missing the playoffs by just one point. Two years later they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, only to be swept by the Colorado Avalanche. They have missed the playoffs every year since the 2000-01 season.

The Panthers wrapped up the 2009 season with a strong 41-30-11 record and 93 points; their second best ever in franchise history. Despite their success, the Panthers missed the playoffs for an eighth straight season, which marks the current longest streak in the NHL. Looking ahead the Florida franchise will rely on Keith Ballard, Bryan Allen, and Stephen Weiss to help them become regular playoff contenders in the years to come.
